The most damaging cuts in public spending are the direct result of decisions taken by the five main Stormont parties.
20,000 jobs are to go in the public sector, 1,500 of those in education. The community and voluntary sector and the arts are all to be significantly cut resulting in the loss of vital services in the most deprived areas and damage to our cultural life. Hospital waiting times are to increase, public transport to be slashed, classroom assistants and books for schools removed, university places and research in technologies, vital for our economy, are to be axed, as a result of Stormont’s January’s budget. The main parties have gambled on a cut in corporation tax for big business with no guarantee a job will be created.Oppose locally imposed cuts. Vote The Workers Party.
