Road re-opens after security alert


A main road in Londonderry has re-opened following a security alert.

It took place at the Madams Bank Road in the northern part of the city.

The alert began just before 6am following a telephone call to police.

A suspicious vehicle was examined and nothing untoward was found.

The Army were not summoned.

The road has been reopened to traffic from around 7.30am.
