IRA bomber-turned-politician Gerry Kelly has complained that “anti-democratic elements” are removing Sinn Fein posters in Belfast.

The North Belfast Assembly candidate claimed the election material was taken down from the Cavehill and Oldpark Roads.

He said: “Political parties should be allowed to go about legitimate campaigning without intimidation or attack. It is significant that those responsible fear the rise of Sinn Féin as only our posters were removed.”
