A Presbyterian minister was one of two clergymen who got a standing ovation after speaking at the Sinn Fein ard fheis.
Rev Steve Stockman decided to take to the stage alongside Father Martin Magill on Friday night.
Speaking on Sunday, he said he had to weigh up how many in his community and family would feel about the move, but told the News Letter: “Yes – I would do it again.”
He said the Millennium Forum in Londonderry had been about “90 per cent full” during the address.
Asked how he was received, he said: “There was a standing ovation – we were very well received.”
The two had spoken on the theme of reconciliation, something which he felt was incumbent on Christians to promote.
