Suspect device close to homes of loyalist band members

Army technical officers are at the scene of a security alert close to the homes of members of a loyalist band who have received death threats

Police confirmed that a suspect device was found on the Crumlin Road on Friday night.

The discovery was made less than 200 yards from the homes of three members of the Young Conway Volunteers.

Seventeen members of the band were subject to a death threat less than 48 hours ago.

It is understood that band members have been in touch with the neighbourhood policing team.

The Crumlin Road is closed between Tennent Street and Twaddell Avenue.
