Suspected cannabis worth £120,000 seized in Belfast


Detectives from Organied Crime Squad have seized £120,000 worth of suspected cannabis in the Belfast area.

Police have also seized conducted a search of a house in the Greenisland area where a small amount of cannabis, a mobile phone and drugs paraphernalia were seized.
Detective Sergeant McAuley, Organised Crime Branch said: “I am pleased that we have taken a considerable quantity of illicit drugs from the streets of Northern Ireland. Seizures such as this demonstrate our ongoing commitment to tackling the scourge of drugs in our society.
“I would encourage anyone who has any information about the use or supply of illegal drugs to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 with any information they have. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
