Teen assaulted on same day as anti-punishment attack protest

Police are investigating an alleged assault on a 19-year-old man in north Belfast.

Officers received a report that a number of masked men entered a property in Kinnaird Street, off the republican-dominated lower Antrim Road, at about 11.25pm on Saturday.

One of the assailants reportedly had a firearm.

The alleged victim sustained a cut to his neck and bruising to his body.

A woman, in her 40s, who was in the property at the time, was not injured.

A number of masked men waited outside throughout.

It came the same day that a protest against punishment attacks was taking place.
