A teenage girl pedestrian was injured in a road collision in Bangor.

The PSNI are appealing for witnesses to the incident on Friday evening.

A PSNI statement said: “The collision, which was reported just before 5.40pm, occurred on Cotton Road, in the vicinity of the bus stop opposite the old primary school.

“A teenage girl, aged 14 years old, was injured as a result of the collision, which involved a white Renault van. She was taken to hospital where she remains today (Saturday).”

Inspector Jonathan Francey of the police is urging anyone who witnessed the incident and who was on the road between 5.35pm and 5.40pm when it occurred, or who captured what occurred on their dash cam to contact police on 101 and quote reference number 1466 of 23/10/20.

Police said: “The Cotton Road, which was closed between Donaghadee and Six Road Ends to allow officers to deal with the collision, has since reopened.”
