Motorists advised to SLOW DOWN with heavy fog on motorway - ‘use your fog lamps’

A post on TrafficwatchNI advises: “traffic cameras showing extensive thick fog on M1 around J6 Saintfield Rd through to J9 Moira this afternoon”.

It adds: “slow down - use fog lamps - drive appropriate to the conditions”.

Another post from TrafficwatchNI warns that temperatures are forecast to fall below freezing and there is a “risk of ice on roads”.

“Salting of roads on scheduled network considered at risk planned to commence later this afternoon or early Monday evening,” adds thew post.
