One taken to hospital after Co Antrim collision

One person has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Co Antrim.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service confirmed a 999 call was received at 10:34 AM this morning (June 9) following reports of a RTC at North Road in Carrickfergus.

"NIAS dispatched one emergency crew to the scene," a spokesperson said.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was transported by ambulance to Antrim Area Hospital."

Appliances from Larne and Carrickfergus Fire Stations attended the incident.

"Firefighters were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on North Road. Firefighters released one female casualty from a vehicle using manual handling techniques and she was handed over to the care of paramedics," a statement from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said.
