One patient has been rushed to hospital after a serious two vehicle collision on a Co Antrim road.

The collision happened on Taylorstown Hill, Toome.

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 06.15 on

Thursday, 17 September 2020 following reports of an RTC at Taylorstown Hill,

Toome.

“NIAS despatched two Emergency crews to the scene.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to the Antrim Area Hospital by ambulance”.

Earlier TrafficwatchNI reported: “#CoAntrim-#Moneyglass-The Roguery is closed following a serious Road Traffic Collision Near its junction with Cloghogue Road”.

The Tweet adds: “Local Diversions are in place.

“Road users are advised to avoid the area as this incident is likely to be ongoing for some time”.

A PSNI statement also released this morning added: “The Roguery Road, Toomebridge is closed in both directions following a serious two vehicle road traffic collision this morning (Thursday 17th September)

“Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative main routes for their journey”.
