Former colleagues of tragic Joseph McDermott from the Silverbirch Hotel & Business Centre in Omagh have spoken of their heartbreak.
Mr McDermott - who had worked at the hotel - died along with his friend Gerry Bradley from Portstewart when a concrete panel fell on them in Perth on Wednesday morning.
In a Facebook post on the Silverbirch Hotel & Business Centre page they write: “It is with a very heavy heart that we write this post. Joe was a very valued member of the Silverbirch family for many years and we are deeply saddened and shocked at the news of the tragic accident which claimed the life of our dear Joe and his colleague Gerard. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to both their families at this very difficult time. We love and miss you dearly Joe, Rest In Peace xx”.
Countless comments are tagged to the post expressing shock at his death.
One from George Fahim who says: “I met him couple of times in the hotel n we used to have a banter about football.Sad news n RIP mate n my condolences to your family”.
