Northern Ireland’s motorsport scene was mourning the death of rally figure Glenn Allen on Sunday.

The sportsman, who ran a car body repair shop to the north of Cookstown, was described in a post on the Facebook page ‘Irish Rallying’ as “always a hard man to beat”.

Facebook user Seamus Counihan dubbed him “a driver who always gave it his all”, while friend Alan McGeehan said “the world will not be the same without you boss”.

His name emerged late last night after a body was found by a roadside in Portrush at about 9am.
