Northern Ireland’s troubled sports promotion body has put out a call for new board members, after a mass resignation during the summer.
On July 6, nine members of its board walked out of their posts with the public agency, shortly after an internal audit had cited what the sports minister Caral Ni Chuilin had called “a range of serious allegations and concerns in relation to the management and the overall culture within Sport NI”.
Yesterday Ms Ni Chuilin said she was seeking to appoint “up to five” new members of the board.
She said that expressions are welcome from all, including those who have never had a role in the sporting sector, but she particularly added that women, ethnic minorities and the disabled are encouraged to apply.
The closing date is noon on Monday October 5.
