Two charged after ‘gang rape’ in Belfast

Two men have been charged with rape after a woman was sexually assaulted in Belfast in the early hours of Friday morning.

The woman in her thirties was attacked by men in the Glen Road area.

It is understood the attack occurred at a Traveller site. Two caravans were sealed off by police yesterday.

The two men, aged 18 and 23, are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday. As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Three men were arrested following the serious sexual assault. A 22 year old male was released unconditionally yesterday evening.
