NI set for ‘very warm spell of fine dry weather’ starting next week
The news will provide some welcome cheer to people of all ages, particularly after NI saw a record low temperature for May with minus 6.1C in Katesbridge on Thursday morning.
Thankfully though, temperatures are now forecasted to climb steadily, from 14C, tomorrow, to a peak of 18C on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sunday to Tuesday will be cloudy, with rain on Sunday, heavy in places. Then things are expected to pick up, with mostly dry and bright weather on Monday and Tuesday.
The Met Office is predicting that Wednesday next week to the following Tuesday will be “very warm with good spells of long, fine and dry weather throughout” for NI.
However the welcome turn in the weather is likely to be disrupted by a few thunderstorms.

“These unsettled periods carry the risk of strong winds, mainly for western areas, and rain may turn heavy at times, however confidence is low for this presently.
“There is a risk of a few thunderstorms forming ahead of any bands of rain, probably becoming less warm, but temperatures remaining above average for the time of year. Towards the end of this period it’s possible we will see a return of more settled conditions, with further dry and rather warm weather.”
Temperatures elsewhere across the UK are expected to rise as high as 26C this month.
