The Met office has issued a Yellow Warning for ice across Northern Ireland.

The Yellow Warning is valid from 4pm today to noon tomorrow (December 28).

A spokesman from the Department of Regional Development said temperatures are forecast to fall below freezing from this afternoon and there is a risk of ice and frost on roads.

“There is also a risk of some wintry showers this afternoon over 200-300m with some temporary slushy accumulations,” said the DRD spokesman.

“Salting of roads on the scheduled network is planned but road users should exercise caution when travelling, particularly on untreated roads.”
