The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain for Counties Antrim, Down and Armagh.

TransportNI this morning advised caution to motorists.

“A Met Office Yellow Warning of Rain for Counties Armagh, Antrim and Down is valid today from 9am to 10pm,” a statement said.

“Given the recent wet weather, please be aware of an increased risk of both surface and river flooding as well as some local disruption to transport.”

The statement added that as “road temperatures are forecast to remain above freezing, no salting has been carried out”.

It comes after Storm Frank hit Northern Ireland on Tuesday leaving roads closed, homes flooded, flights in and out of Belfast cancelled and many houses without power.
