The Democratic Unionist Party is in no position to accuse Theresa May of breaking promises and going back on her word.
That said, the best thing she has done for Northern Irish unionism since becoming Prime Minister was calling that snap election.
It presents the DUP with its biggest test and opportunity so far.
If the DUP cannot muster enough support to have this deal rejected are they prepared to activate the nuclear button, end the confidence and supply arrangement with the Conservatives, and risk having Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister?
After all, he could be no worse a friend to Northern Irish unionism than Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May.
