The article published by Sam McBride (November 2), from tapes released by UUP on remarks made by defector Aaron Callan about DUP figures before he joined them, says more about those who handed over tapes than it does about Aaron Callan.
He is a young academic holding four degrees; employed in a high profession; an avid reader of British and Irish history; is thoughtful and upright and comes from a successful and well respected family in Limavady.
The real question to answer is why did Aaron Callan feel he needed to leave the UUP.
The answer my friend is not ‘blown in the wind’ , but a simple research into the history of East Londonderry.
