Who would have believed the DUP would return to the House of Commons with the same number of MPs as the GB wide Liberal Democrats?

The Lib Dems also lost their Northern Ireland sister party, The Alliance Party, with the Belfast East seat now in the hands of Gavin Robinson MP.

That Nick Clegg, as Liberal Democrats Leader, promised to slash university tuition fees and reneged on the deal should be a message for Sinn Fein having gone back on Welfare Reform. Nick Clegg paid the price for misleading the electorate on university fees; voters had no confidence in him.

The people of Northern Ireland know local politicians finally agreed a deal on welfare payments having worked to protect NI’s most vulnerable; only one Party reneged. Sinn Fein’s devious decision places them in Liberal Democrat land. NI has a knowledgeable electorate and they will not be hoodwinked or treated as politically immature; they know who is trying to pull the wool over their eyes.
