I never saw a clinic in Africa that was run by atheists

Brian Mc Clinton in his letter (June 19) states atheism “implies no moral code whatsoever” and also that “Humanism is a positive philosophy of being “good” without God.”

The abstraction goodness is verified in human behaviour as is evil.

If the propensity for good and evil is innate, then life without a moral code is egocentric; sin is personal and virtue is social.

In my years living in Central Africa I never once came across a clinic or dispensary run by humanists or atheists. The greatest exemplar we have for human behaviour is Jesus Christ and I challenge Brian Mc Clinton to name any atheist who could match him for truth, insight into our frailties and inspiration for our social lives.
