Northern Ireland once again leads the way in achieving excellent GCSE results, and on behalf of everyone at the Controlled Schools Support Council (CSSC) I would like to commend the many teaching staff whose dedication and commitment has led to these outstanding results.
It is clear that the thousands of GCSE students who attend controlled post primary schools have worked hard and they should be very proud of themselves.
Congratulations, and we wish you every success for the next step of their education path.
As the new academic year begins, CSSC will continue to advocate on behalf of controlled schools.
In particular, we should recognise the commitment of school leaders in improving achievement in their particular school settings and the impact that education budget cuts will have on their ability to give our children the best education possible.
Barry Mulholland, chief executive, Controlled Schools’ Support Council
