NI not fully democratic

Morning View (May 7) stated: “The 2015 UK election campaign has been a great display of democracy.”

What does democracy mean? Unionists regard Westminster as their natural parliament.

But Irish people in Northern Ireland are prevented from voting to elect members of the Irish national parliament. Is this democracy?

Regarding “rigged” elections in Zimbabwe, here it was called gerrymander - defined in the Oxford dictionary as “manipulate the boundaries of (a constituency etc)

so as to give undue influence to some party or class”.

Not to mention partition - ie, to establish a border to entench majority status for unionists. Very democratic.
