I can only gather from Martin McGuiness’s interview with Eamonn Mallie that he continues to justify the terrorist actions of the IRA he is proud of.

This may be what Jim Allister means when referring to unrepentant terrorists in government. The dissident IRA who carry on his armed struggle ideology will find comfort in his remarks. His ability to dehumanise individual soldiers and police officers as legitimate targets within what he sees as a war conflict is a method of justifying the actions of his volunteers.
