Perhaps DUP and SF should merge

I found the article by Alex Kane (January 19) online under the heading ‘DUP and Sinn Fein Happy to do without other Parties’.

I for one find it strange that over the last 50 years since Terence O’Neill met Seán Lemass at Stormont that the Democratic Unionist Party are now doing everything that they used to condemn the Ulster Unionist Party for doing.

Is it time for the DUP and Sinn Fein to enter into talks on both parties merging to become one party in the same way that the Liberals and the SDP did in the 1980 to become the Liberal Democrats?

It would be interesting to see what name they came up with if such a merger between the DUP and Sinn Fein were to take place. Maybe some of your readers could suggest a new name for it?
