One of the few advantages of ageing is the ability to remember actions of the past and the results.
I remember in the 1960/70s DUP’s pursuit of Terence O’Neill, Northern Ireland’s prime minister; arguably the most progressive unionist leader since 1922.
If he had been listened to we would surely not have had the mayhem of some 30 years.
Now we see the DUP’s pursuit of two of the most progressive Pro Union MPs, who just happen to be women.
Does this mean they want another period of insularity and backwardness?
