Sleepwalking to Irish nationalist settlement

More sword-rattling from unionists symbolically foaming at the mouth over a nationalist/republican scheme to disallow the Union Flag imprints on driving licences.

We are getting used to the general hypocrisy of the self-appointed loyalist supporters rushing symbolically to stand by the flag.

The latest craze has been north Belfast, while Drumcree is hardly mentioned.

But then things have moved on to another more popular platform.

The shallow victory at Drumcree with the medals has never been repeated.

Tell me, what impressive sacrifice in defence of our heritage have we seen from our stalwarts on the hill?

What impressive action, clearly more than tokenism, have they shown to the undermining pro-Irish camp?

When will we see a line drawn on rock and not on shifting sand?

If the pro-Union electorate return some of these folks again the pro-Union population is surely sleepwalking towards an Irish nationalist settlement.

Time is slipping away for the pro-British people.

The next election for both Stormont and Westminster deserves people who refuse to play around with a birthright secured by our forefathers.
