The performance of the Northern Ireland team in the game on Sunday evening was one of the best ever.

They drew the highest seeded team, namely Switzerland, from the four highest ranked teams.

For Northern Ireland to have a team like Switzerland, who have only been beaten at home once in 16 years, holding on at the end was heroic.

I was so proud of all of them!

The tie came down to an awful decision by a referee in our home game at Windsor Park.

We have seen in the past a team going out by the referee missing a handball by Thierry Henry.

The team who were so offended even wanted to have 33 teams in the World Cup after the mistake was made.

In the end it is estimated this team received around £3.6 million from Fifa not to take legal action.

Did Fifa set a precedent?

Although money dictates the game these days, it can never take away the injustice felt by the players, manager and supporters of our wee country.

If Fifa had introduced a video referee for game changing decisions, we could well be going to Russia next year.
