The latest legacy court ruling, in this case relating to the Loughinisland massacre, has again shown that the current approach to dealing with the past is piecemeal, not financially sustainable, and functioning within uncertain legal framework.

The failure to implement the Stormont House Agreement mechanisms is an indictment of political deadlock.

Families need justice and truth, and society needs reconciliation.
