Support for the Union is growing

In 2000 Gerry Adams promised the faithful a so-called united Ireland by 2016 to mark the centenary of the Easter Rising.

Of course the Rising was a strategic disaster, so too is Sinn Fein’s plan for a unitary state and now we have the first senior republican, Danny Morrison, accepting that this particular pipe dream just won’t happen.

Unpalatable though it might be for nationalists and republicans, they must accept that support for a united Ireland continues to haemorrhage, while support for the Union continues to grow and has never been stronger!
