The actual date of King William's death

In response to the tweet from Paul Frew carried as a Tweet of the Day, March 8th is the date of King William's death in the old style calendar.

The anniversary of his death will be March 19th.

Even more interesting than the horse, Sorrel, which contributed to his demise is the WHITE Arab mare Chillaby which he sent to stud at Newmarket in 1694.

The records show that this horse was “imported in the early years of the King’s reign”. The question is was this the horse that carried him over the Boyne?
