There is no place for paramilitaries in Northern Ireland

I am concerned at the Secretary of State’s statement on the assessment of paramilitary activity in Northern Ireland.

There is no place for paramilitaries in Northern Ireland.

There must now be collective political leadership from all parties to ensure that no political vacuum exists which would allow paramilitaries to flourish.

While I welcome the assessment that there is no likelihood of a return to full terrorist campaigns, these organisations are still destroying many of our communities.

The people of Northern Ireland deserve better.

No opportunity should be wasted to ensure that we all enjoy peace and stability, without fear of violence.
