We are more than two years on from vote: remainers must accept defeat

Over two years ago the people of the UK voted to take back control of their country and put the power back into our politicians' hands.

Why? Because quite simply the people are fed up and tired of being dictated to and having no control of voting out the politicians that are failing us. That are failing our great country.

Since voting to leave the EU (soon to be the United States of Europe) we have been barraged with how devastating leaving the EU will actually be.

Something similar to what we faced during the referendum campaign.

Why? Because we have a REMAIN Parliament trying to deliver the Brexit the people voted for. The majority saw through the untruths and deceit then and we can see through this now.

We are not stupid. We know what is going on. All the threats of falling off a cliff edge and how it will be disastrous for our economy, how a no deal Brexit will also be not in our best interest and could also ruin our economy for many years to come, how it’s the worst possible outcome from the negotiations.

Remember, we heard all this before during campaigning of the referendum and, guess what? It was all fake news. Our economy has grown, businesses have still been coming to the UK, unemployment has reduced the list could go on and on.

The truth is a no deal Brexit is really a World Trade Brexit. If we left the EU tomorrow without a deal we would immediately fall into World Trade Organisation (WTO) trading terms.

A World Trade Brexit would have remarkable advantages for us as a country. Jacob Rees-Mogg stated recently that a Brexit on WTO terms “would result in a £1.1 trillion boost to the economy over 15 years because our trade with WTO countries has grown four times faster than our trade under single market terms.

Yes, you read it right, our trade with other countries outside the EU has increased four times faster than our trade with other EU countries under single market terms.

Jacob Rees-Mogg went on to say: “Trading on WTO terms has been hugely successful and prices would go down by as much as 8% for some basic items such as food and footwear, meaning it would provide the biggest benefit to the least well-off.”

So let us not be fooled by this government’s propaganda of how a no deal Brexit will be disastrous for the UK.

Our government, our parliament and our politicians have to deliver on the majority, and the majority voted to leave.

They should not be trying to satisfy both those that voted to Remain and Leave.

Remain lost, this is fact. Our Parliament, even though it’s a Remain Parliament, should respect that.

If they can’t they should be removed from positions and Leave MPs should be tasked to take over.
