Why does BBC let Kelly pontificate?

Is there not something ridiculous about the BBC, without comment, having Gerry Kelly pontificating (NI news, July 14) on the Ardoyne disturbances, given his blatant appeal to sectarian head-counting during the recent Westminster election in North Belfast?

The Ardoyne residents, whose sensitivities he is concerned with, seemed to have given him his answer in failing to vote for him in any number. Could the BBC and the Parades Commission not take note of this?

And in doing so, given the past violence he indulged in with pride, could the BBC and Parades Commission, not also consider his frequent television appearances on such occasions as in effect goading the Orange supporters to violence?

It may not be within the remit of the Parades Commission but it is surely within that of the BBC.
