International teammate Olivia Mehaffey, making a return to action after a bout of glandilar fever, was second following an 81.

Meanwhile, Clandeboye’s Scott Miller won the Ulster U16 Boys Close Championship at Ardglass GC on Saturday.

The final had originally been planned for Friday afternoon but heavy rain and gales forced organisers to call off play entirely.

Miller and opponent Josh Robinson (Lisburn GC) halved the opening six holes of the final.

Miller won both the eighth and ninth holes to edge ahead and then won the 11th and 12th to take a commanding four hole lead.

Robinson hit back with birdies at the 14th and 16th holes to reduce the deficit but Scott was not to be outdone and birdied 17 to win the match 3 & 1.
