Alfredo Meli is looking forward to facing the challenge of Rhys Pagan for the Celtic Nations title in Belfast on Saturday night.

Meli - unbeaten after 10 fights as a professional - was frustrated when his hopes of winning an Irish title in the summer were dashed after the fight was cancelled at the last minute. And Meli says Pagan will know he is a fight at the Falls Park venue.

“I was gutted when the Irish title fight was called off at the last minute, but now I get the chance to get back fighting. Preparation and training has gone really well and I want to show local fight fans what I have to offer.

“This win would move me to 11 wins and no losses, so I will be looking to move upwards from now on.

“Pagan has a good record and this will be a test for me - but I am ready for whatever he brings on the night,” added Meli.

Belfast cruiserweight Tommy McCarthy headlines the show as he takes on Courtney Fry. It will be a good test for the improving McCarthy.

Throne McKenna, Paddy Gallagher, Joe Fitzpatrick, an Paul Quinn will also appear on the show.
