Belfast’s Brendan Irvine will get his campaign underway at the AIBA World Elite Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Doha in Qatar on Tuesday.
Ireland team-mates Dean Walsh and Michael O’Reilly will also be in action 0n Tuesday.
The trio - who are making their World Championships debuts - will be in action on Day one of the 18th edition of the tournament in the evening session.
Irvine faces USA Light flyweight Nico Hernandez in the first round and he will be looking to get through to the latter stages of the Championships.
Irish captain Michael Conlan and Joe Ward - both current European Elite champions and seeded three and four in Doha - have received byes into the last 16.
Sean McComb and Adam Nolan are between the ropes on Wednesday.
McComb faces Mexico’s Lindozo Garza at Lightweight and he will be looking to impress and make it through to the next round.
The Ireland team had great success at the European Championships earlier this year and they will be looking to get among the medals in Doha, with Conlan looking to get his hands on gold.
