After a three-year absence Daniel ‘Insane’ McShane will return to the ring in 2018.
McShane has been confirmed for the MHD Promotions bill at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on February 3.
The bill will also feature James Tennyson, Feargal McCrory, Stevie Quinn Jnr and Joe Fitzpatrick.
Fans who have followed McShane’s career to date know there is never a dull moment when he enters the ring wearing his Hannibal Lecter mask.
The 24-year-old has been out of the ring for nearly three years since suffering his only defeat by way of a dislocated shoulder at Andersonstown Leisure Centre in March 2015.
But he feels he still has something to prove after his time out of the limelight.
The Belfast super-featherweight was due to return earlier this year but withdrew due to the sudden death of his best friend and Kronk gym mate Manuel Caddel.
McShane joins a quality line-up headlined by WBA International super-featherweight champion and world number four Tennyson.
And promoter Mark Dunlop says it is good to see McShane returning to the ring.
“Daniel has taken some time away from the sport and has had a tough time of late.
“I am just happy he is back at the Kronk with Tony Dunlop and training alongside his good friend James Tennyson, he is still a baby and has plenty of time to fulfil his potential.
“Daniel looked very good before he took a break from the sport. and now he is back.”

And the postponed rematch between David Haye and Tony Bellew will take place on May 5, promoter Eddie Hearn has announced.
Bellew beat Haye in their grudge match in March and the two had been due to face off again this month, only for Haye to suffer a bicep injury.
“I’m thrilled to confirm that the rematch between myself and Tony Bellew will take place,” Haye said.
