James Tennyson will take to the ring at the Europa on October 17 knowing that a British title is within touching distance.

In March last year Belfast featherweight Tennyson got his hands on the Celtic title after stopping Kris Hughes in the seventh round of their contest.

That fight was also a British title eliminator and now Tennyson is ranked three in Britain behind World Champion Lee Selby and European king Josh Warrington – so he is mixing in good company.

A British title fight should happen before the end of 2015 and Tennyson is looking forward to the challenge.

“I fight in the Europa on October 17 and after that I want that British title shot.

“When I get a British title shot it will be televised and that will get more exposure – which will get me more noticed.

“I have been in a great vein of form in my recent fights and I had a great win against Hughes. So this is going to be a huge year for me and I want that British title,” he added.
