BOXING: Paul Hyland jnr closes in on British title shot

Paul Hyland Jnr will have a lot to fight for when he faces Floyd Moore in the Europa Hotel in Belfast on April 14 as he is now the mandatory challenger for the British Lightweight title.

A win at the Europa would mean Hyland jnr would face the winner of the title fight between Lewis Ritson and Scotty Cardle by the end of July.

And promoter Mark Dunlop is keen to get that British title shot for Hyland jnr in his home city.

“We really don’t care who it is and I know Hylo will beat either of them and he is well up for the challenge.

“ Paul is well supported and we will do are best to get the fight in Belfast as he will sell any venue out.

“Paul is very dedicated fighter who lives the right way and has been very loyal to me since the day I signed him.

“Loyalty is everything to me. But first and foremost we will concentrate on defeating Moore at the Europa Hotel os Saturday April 14 which is the perfect fight in preparation for the task bestowed on us by the British Boxing Board of Control,” added Dunlop.

And Feargal McCrory will also appear on the Europa bill.

The super featherweight, now undefeated in eight contests and Dunlop rates him highly.

“Feargal will make it. I will do my best to get him a big title fight before the end of the year.

“His trainer John Breen rates him highly and that is good enough for me.””
