WBC World champion Leo Santa Cruz has backed Carl Frampton to beat Scott Quigg if they ever meet in the ring.
Santa Cruz fought at featherweight on Saturday night on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s mega-fight against Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas.
The WBC super-bantamweight belt holder failed to impress at the heavier weight as he went the distance with Jose Cayetano at the MGM Grand.
A summer fight between IBF king Frampton and WBC champion Quigg fell through in recent weeks - but it is hoped they will meet in the future.
And Santa Cruz says his money is on Frampton to claim the victory.
“I go for Frampton. I think is much stronger and a better fighter.
“They are both good fighters but I think Frampton would have won if the fight had been made.
“I still want the fights against Frampton, Quigg and Guillermo Rigondeaux.
“They could move up to featherweight, or I could come down, or we could even fight at a catch weight.
“We can make these fights, no-matter what,” he added.
