Former IBF World Champion Dave ‘Boy’ McAuley believes Carl Frampton is ready to rule the Super-bantamweight division.
McAuley watched on on Tuesday as Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn offered Frampton £1.5 million to fight his young charge Scott Quigg in Manchester on July 18 in a mega-fight on Sky television.
Frampton’s team at Cyclone Promotions rejected the offer - but McAuley says ‘The Jackal’ has no-one to fear in his weight division.
“He his untouchable at the minute and I believe he beats Quigg, Leo Santa Cruz and Guillermo Rigondeux.
“Carl has been improving in all aspects of his game. Winning the IBF World title has brought him on again.
“He’s looks stronger, sharper and just better than ever. He has improved massively in the last few months.
“I believe he is the best in the division and he is now just coming into his prime,” he added.
“I had watched Avalos a few times before he faced Carl and he was a very good fighter and Frampton just blew him away.
“Against Avalos he was very impressive.”
