Alfredo Meli is up for the challenge that lies ahead at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast on November 20 when he faces Conrad Cummings for the Celtic Middleweight title.

Both Meli and Cummings are unbeaten local fighters and Meli - who trains at the Immaculata Gym in Belfast - is sure his hand will be raised in victory.

“I can’t wait for November 20. To be headlining at the Waterfront Hall in a title fight and a local derby is fantastic.

“These are the types of fights that I got into boxing for.

“We’re both undefeated and it’s going to be a cracking fight but I will end the night as the new champion.

“I have got the right number of weeks to prepare for the fight and I will be ready for the challenge of Cummings.

Cummings beat Meli in the Ulster Senior Championships when they were amateurs 0 but Meli says that counts for nothing.

“I had been out of action before that fight - but this is totally different. We both like to fight - so I think this will be a real crowd pleaser. This is a fight I can win and I will be the new Celtic champion.”
