Luke Wilton and James Tennyson close in on British title glory

There was great news today for Belfast boxers Luke Wilton and James Tennyson.

East Belfast fighter Wilton has been nominated by the British Boxing Board of Control to fight Ian Butcher for the British Flyweight Title.

Wilton has fought for the British title before when he lost on points to champion Kevin Satchell in February 2013.

Tennyson has been nominated as mandatory challenger for the BBBofC Celtic Title which will also be an eliminator for the British Featherweight Title.

Boxing is buzzing in Belfast at the minute with IBF World champion Carl Frampton defending his title for the first time against Chris Avalos at the Odyssey on February 28.
