Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn is delighted that ITV will broadcast Carl Frampton’s IBF World title defence against Chris Avalos at the Odyssey on February 28.
Frampton’s deal with ITV was announced on Tuesday and Hearn - who is backed by Sky Televsion - was pleased with the news.
“Fantastic, brilliant. I have always said the more channels that show boxing the better and on terrestrial television is even better. People say ‘Ha ha Frampton’s got ITV’ but it makes Frampton versus Scott Quigg even bigger.The more exposure for boxing the better,
“Boxing is sexy again, look at where we are now. Boxing is on Sky, Boxnation, Channel 5 and ITV and BT will join soon. Eurosport. You have six channels showing boxing. It’s brilliant,” he added.
