Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan have both qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016 after wins at the weekend.

Barnes became the first Irish boxer to book his ticket to the Olympics after beating Finol Rivas in Venezuela in the early hours of Sunday morning.

And Conlan capped off a perfect night for Irish boxing with a unanimous victory over Jose Diaz-Azoca.

Conlan joined Barnes on the plane to Rio after his victory and Azerbaijan’s Magomed Gurbanov’s loss to Mora Garcia of Puerto Rico ensured his ticket.
