Paul Hyland jnr will face his first acid test at the Devenish Complex in Belfast on June 6.

Hyland has motored through his first six fights as a professional - but he is now entering murky waters as he faces Ivans Levickis at the Belfast venue.

Levickis has 18 wins on his record, with 14 of those wins coming by way of knock-out and the Latvian fighter will not be coming to Belfast to make up the numbers.

Hyland has impressed in his outings to date - but Levickis will be his biggest challenge so far and the Belfast lightweight knows he will have to be on the money come June 6.

“He is my toughest fight to date, so I am preparing really hard for this fight. I don’t know much about him but he has 18 wins on his record, with 14 stoppages - so he knows what he is about.

“It is a good test for me at this stage of my career and I am determined to get another victory on my record, but I know this will not be easy,” he added.

Hyland jnr picked-up the International Masters Bronze title in his last outing in March and he wants to build on that success.

“It was not a major title but it has given me confidence to go on and win more titles. It was good to get my first title as a professional and hopefully there are more to come.

“I will just keep working hard and see where I end up. It is also great to be back in the Devenish.

“The crowd and the atmosphere is fantastic and I love fighting there. Training has gone well and I will be ready to go. I have been moving up the rankings and I don’t want Levickis to stop my progression,” he added.

Hyland Jnr plays chief support to Irish Light Middleweight Champion Dee Walsh.

Walsh also faces the first real test of his professional career as he takes on Patryk Litkiewicz.

Litkiewicz has won 16 of his 23 fights and will be coming to get another win on his record.

Walsh has looked good so far - but a few questions will be answered about the potential he has on June 6.James Tenny son, James Fryers, Gerard Healy, Tyrone McKenna, Alan Donnellan and Darren Cruise will all feature.
