Sean McComb staying cool before Boston showdown

McComb fights on the same bill as Belfast super-featherweight James Tennyson who challenges Tevin Farmer for the American's IBF World title.‘The Public Nuisance’- McComb - has breezed to 3-0 with two stoppage wins and a points victory.One man refusing to get caught up in the hype, however, is the fighter himself.McComb said: “There are no nerves. Not yet anyway. I’m just taking it like any other show. Once you get in the arena, everything is blocked out, to be honest.“I’m more excited than nervous, really. I’m really looking forward to getting in there and showing the American crowd what I’m about.“It’s just another day. I’m not too eager to knock people out or look impressive. I’m not too eager to look like a superstar. I know what I’m capable of.“The more relaxed I am, the better I’m going to look. That’s the way I see things. I know my performance looks a lot better when I relax, so that helps me.“I had a tough opponent in my last fight. He was swinging, biting down on his gumshield and coming back at me. He was dangerous with the head and pushing mine down so I learned a lot. I was able to adapt and I learned a lot, which will stand me in good stead in the long run.“It says a lot about Irish boxing that there are four top fighters in myself, Michael Conlan, Sean Donnelly and Davey Oliver Joyce – four guys who were on the same amateur team together – all fighting in the US in the space of a week.“It’s great, the work that MTK Global is doing to get these fighters out there. They’ve got links with massive promoters now and it’s great to see.”
