And the experienced Kronk coach from Belfast expects his young fighter to dethrone current champion Ryan Walsh at the Copper Box in London.

“I am very confident James will get the job done.

“He is in the best condition of his life. For this fight he has been sparring with the likes of Carl Frampton, Josh Warrington and Ronnie Clark.

“He has also been sparring local guys like James Fryers and Paul Hyland jnr. Things are going really well and he will be ready.”

And Dunlop - who has trained many fighters at his Belfast gym - says he has always believed Tennyson had the talent and ability to win titles during his career.

“James started boxing when he was really young and he is improving with every fight.

“He is also learning all the time and he never boxed as a senior when he was an amateur.

“It means he is very fresh and I have seen improvement in all of his fights and he will be ready for Walsh.

“James always had ability from an early age and you could see that when he was a kid,” added Dunlop.

And Dunlop is sure that his man can get the job done against Walsh.

“It will be a tough fight but I am one hundred percent confident that James will win.

“And to be honest Walsh is the British champion but he would not be anything special.

“He is an average British champion and I believe James will have too much for him.”

But Dunlop admits that the fight could go the whole distance even though Tennyson has stopped 13 of his 17 opponents.

“We are preparing for 12 hard rounds but if we get the win sooner - then happy days,

“But Walsh is a tough boy, so we have to be prepared for the fight to go the whole way. James has prepared for anything that could happen and we are looking forward to April 30.

“This is a huge fight and opportunity for James and I believe he will get the job done,” he added.

And Tennyson’s manager Mark Dunlop is also confident that his fighter will do the business against Walsh.

“He will be the first British champion I have, but I want more.

“Walsh is a good fighter but I just cannot see James losing this fight,” he added.
